How to write reviews

Everyone reads scientific reviews – who wrote what, uk best essays discovered, invented. It’s easier to read a short extract containing the main ideas on this topic than digging yourself in a heap of literature. Therefore, reviews are one of the most popular scientific genres. But nobody wants to write them. Too much laborious work, which requires perseverance and a great deal of time. However, if you have already developed the habit of working according to a rigid schedule, then writing reviews for you will not be too difficult.

The most important thing in preparing the review is good planning. It is necessary to initially limit the scope of the review article – whether it will be short or voluminous. Much depends on the magazine to which the review is intended, as well as its target audience – will it consist of narrow specialists who are in the topic, or have a general, illibezov character? Then we need to determine the central idea, and a review will be built around it. Worse, when the review author starts listing who and what he did in this area, not highlighting the main ideas and interrelations between them. It turns out porridge, not a review.

The review can be aimed at describing the solution of a problem and the search for a problem. In the first case, the review describes some existing scientific problem and suggests ways in which this problem can be solved – new theories, new models, new methods. In the second case, the review contains an analysis of some new concepts, highlighting in them those problems that need to be addressed so that the proposed concepts better describe reality. Aerobatics is when the review combines search and problem solving. Obviously, a good overview is not a compilation already known, only in a condensed form. In fact, this is the same scientific study, where you represent your own point of view, with which the scientific work you are considering is being examined. If you do not have new ideas about the articles and monographs you read, then it’s better not to take up the survey – you’ll waste your time.

If you have your own point of view on the topic under review, then it should be stated already in the first paragraphs of the article. Do not bury it deeply.
